A trip to Ethiopia... and London too.

Above: After a long flight, we disembarked in London for a two-day visit. One of the first things we learned: yes, they really do drive on the "wrong" side of the road. They have to--their cars are made backward.

Center: We stayed at a delightful B&B called Harmondsworth Hall, built in the 17th century.

Right: That's a real phone booth.

LEFT: Technically, that's not Big Ben. That's actually the name of the bell inside the tower. We toured the Parliament building while we were there.
ABOVE: Wendy and Holly in front of Buckingham Palace. Someone apparently forgot to tell the Queen we were coming.
London is the home of the original Hard Rock Cafe. Though not quite as steeped in tradition as some of the other venues we visited, it provided us with a good dinner.
This village sits at the foot of the Udo escarpment, where The Eden Projects have planted some 2,000,000 new trees.
Our cast and crew hiking around the escarpment.
Workers in the village prepare seedlings to be taken to the hillsides.
Workers quickly dig holes and plant the seedlings.
The village children consider us a fascinating attraction. Their favorite position was directly in front of the camera.

Recording an interview at the Awasa nursery, where seedlings are grown. The girls pose with Baruc, one of our drivers. He had an amazing knowledge of local birds and wildlife, and the girls quickly adopted him. A worker tends seedlings at the nursery.

Hippos play by the shore of the lake. Note the lack of a fence between us and them!   A traditional Ethiopian meal served "family style." It may look a bit messy, but it was delicious.
